About the foundation
I come from Prague, where I also graduated from the Jan Kepler Gymnasium for eight years. After that I went on to study for a BA in International Relations and Arabic at the University of St Andrews in the UK. During my studies, I engaged in a number of activities such as writing articles on international affairs for the student magazine, organising conferences and playing dodgeball. Alongside this, I combined my passion for sushi with my interest in business and managed to set up a student sushi bar. I also picked up some professional experience during university. I tried my hand at working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a biotechnology company, at consulting firms and last but not least at Amazon. In the future, however, I would like to work in international development. At the London School of Economics, where I am studying International Development with support from the Bakala Foundation, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, I will pursue my academic interests, which include humanitarian intervention and 'social enterprise'.
