About the foundation
While studying at the Jan Kepler High School in Prague, I got a unique opportunity to stay at the prestigious British high school Winchester College. Thanks to the inspiration from the local environment and the way of teaching, I decided to direct my steps after graduation to the UK. During my high school studies, I was mainly involved in physics and science in general - whether by participating in the International Physics Olympiad or interning at the Faculty of Nuclear Physics in Prague - but also rowing at the top level. The choice of university was therefore an obvious one for me, as Cambridge is renowned for both its rowing culture and its Natural Sciences degree programme, which is distinguished by its flexibility and efforts to combine several disciplines. Thus, from the very first year I had the opportunity, also thanks to the support from the Krsek Foundation, to learn the basics of molecular biology at the same time as the principles of quantum chemistry or thermodynamics. I am currently planning to continue my studies in theoretical physics with a focus on biophysics, which I hope will be helped by an internship on quantum gases that I will be participating in this summer.
