Jakub Hlávka

He studies EU foreign policy and transatlantic relations at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he is also a research assistant at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.

He graduated from the University of Economics in Prague and the Gymnasium in Krnov, and gained further study experience at the Prague Institute of Security Studies and during a scholarship in Germany. During his studies in Prague he worked in the state, private and non-profit sectors and also participated in the organization of several national educational projects. He has been playing the violin since the age of five, and has received numerous awards and performed as a soloist and chamber and orchestral player in Europe, the USA and the Middle East. He was awarded a scholarship from the Martina and Tomas Krsko Foundation to study at Georgetown through concurrent admission to the Master's program at the University of Chicago.
