About the foundation
Significant financial support from the Martina and Tomáš Krsek Endowment Fund enabled me to study at Stanford University in 2012-2014 for a Master's degree in East Asian Studies. It was amazing to experience the bustling international atmosphere on campus and to be part of a very challenging but rewarding academic environment. Stanford classes such as 'China in World Politics', 'U.S. Policy Towards Northeast Asia', and 'The Politics of International Humanitarian Action' combined with countless seminars, conferences, and visits from foreign leaders allowed me to target and deepen my interest in world politics. I have also taken advantage of numerous opportunities to study under world-renowned foreign policy experts, including former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. At the end of my Master's thesis, I successfully combined my broader interest in international relations with my long-term focus on China to produce an analysis of China's response to the humanitarian crises in Rwanda, Kosovo, Darfur and Libya in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Stanford also excited me athletically. I was mainly involved in golf and squash and represented the university as a member of the men's volleyball club. Since September 2015, I have been working in the UK for Mars Incorporated in their prestigious management program. I intend to take full advantage of all the opportunities that the company offers due to its global reach, gaining vital experience in international business.
